{25 weeks & a night in}

 {25 weeks}

Here we are at 25 weeks already! Im getting more & more plump everyday it seems. Our little munchkin sure does move around alot now too. It is such a strange feeling. William is actually able to feel her moving around now, which is pretty neat. We are very anxious to meet our sweet little Giuliana. 

William & i have been very busy the last couple of weeks with work & school  & havent really had much time to spend with eachother. It seems like whenever we do have a free moment, we are working on stuff for the baby or for our house.. We had a talk the other day & decided that we really need to enjoy these next couple of months together, where it's just us & really focus on eachother. So we have been doing just that :) Last night, we decided to have a date night. Instead of going out somewhere, we had date night at our home! We did something we haven't done in a long time; we had a picnic in our living room. 

The whole night we just sat together, ate our papaya & almonds, shared a sandwich, drank our tea & talked about life, our dreams, & eachother. It was the first time all week that we both got to sit & just relax and not worry about anything. It was truly wonderful :) 

I have been so blessed with a wonderful husband that loves me so much & treats me so well.

{& her name is....}

A lot of you have been asking us if we have decided on a name for our little sweetie pie. Truth is... 

WE HAVE! 

The name we decided on for our little girl is....

Miss Giuliana Joy Johnston

We have both loved & talked about the name Giuliana from day one. It is just such a beautiful name, & you dont really hear it that often. Especiall the European spelling with the "G". 

According to our baby name book, the name Giuliana means "youthful". 

For the middle name, we decided to use Joy. Joy is my grandmothers name. 

She is very dear to me & has been a huge part of my life & my husbands life. It only seemed appropriate to use her name :) 

According to our baby name book, our little girls name says that she will be young & joyful! Im very anxious to see the personality that our little sweetie will have & what she will look like! 

I'm hoping she will be creative like me & smart like her daddy, {Seriously, my husband is one of the smartest people i know!} I hope she has beautiful dark hair like her daddy :) oh & i hope she has her daddies skin. Sounds weird, but he has great skin too! It is never dry, it is always perfect & the pigmentation is so beautiful.

We're getting more & more excited everyday to meet you Giuliana! 

Grow nice & healthy for mom & dad ok?

We have actually been able to cross a lot of the projects off the list :) {although we have added a few others}

#10 Burlap lampshade for living room

{We found this lamp stand at a thrift store for $1! painted it white and made a lamp shade :) pretty huh? }

#9 make lots of burpcloths

#27 Make a Doily lamp

#27 Make ruffle butt onesies

We have already accomplished so much, yet there as still so much to do! Im sure we will get it all done though :) ...Eventually.

{24 weeks & a new haircut}

So i did it! I cut my hair off yesterday. AHHH! I still cant believe it :) >>

It is definately very different. It will take a little time to get used to,  but i love it  :)

Here we are @ 24 weeks!!

6 months already! Can you believe it? Our little girl is growing so fast! & so is my belly :) I like it though. I like when people ask me how far along i am & tell me my bump is cute. It makes this whole thing actually feel real! I can feel her moving around like crazy all the time, she is an active one :)

{DIY Pretty Ruffle butt Onesies}

So I have been quite the busy body lately. If i'm not at work or spending time with my wonderful husband, i'm in baby mode! I'm always ALWAYS working on something. William is actually getting quite sick of it.  But i just feel like we dont have enough time to do everything we need to do before baby gets here! We only have 16 weeks left folks! Crazy huh?

Well, my busy body project yesterday was making my first ruffle butt onesie :) Here is our tutorial:

DIY Pretty Ruffle butt onesies

You need:

*Onesies

 {forgot to put one in the pic, oops!}

*Fabric strips & lace strips

*A sewing machine

*Pins

1. cut your fabric & lace to at least twice the size of the width of the onesie you will be sewing them onto

2. Set the stitch on your machine to a longer stitch

3. Hem the edges of any cotton fabric you are using. This will prevent fraying when you wash the onesies. 

4.After you hem the edges, do a stitch all the way down the middle of the fabric/lace strip. Do this for all of your fabric/lace strip pieces.

*When you cut the thread after sewing, be sure to leave a long thread tail on your fabric/ lace.*

5. To make a ruffle:

Pull the BOTTOM thread and ruffle up the fabric. with your fingers. Sounds easy, & it is! 

It will look somehting like this. Do this with all of your fabric pieces.

6. Position your ruffles and pin them onto your onesie.

7. Move the stich size back down to a smaller, shorter stitch. 

8. Sew a stitch right down the middle of each fabric strip.

& there you go! This one is my favorite :) 

I have only made two different ones so far, but arent they cute??? This is really an easy project. I made both of these onesies in about 45 minutes. not bad! Another Project.. Started.. but not finished. I will be making plenty more of these in the upcoming weeks.
