{36 weeks}
3d ultrasounds are so neat! Isn't she just darling? Such a chunky little monkey! Dr says she weighs 5.2 pounds right now.
Cannot wait to meet her!
The majority of my pregnancy little Giuliana has been Breech, meaning she is head up rather then head down. My 36 week ultrasound on monday confirmed that she is indeed still breech! Not a good thing as we are quickly approaching our due date. We talked about different options with my Doctor & decided we will give her another week to try to turn on her own & then attempt to manually rotate her through a procedure called External Cephalic version if she hasn't moved by next tuesday. I am very nervous about this procedure.. I keep praying that Giuliana will just move on her own before tuesday. Dr says that there is a chance that during the procedure i could go into labor & we may need to do an emergency c-section, or if we cant get her to move, we will still have to do a c-section. I am just so anxious and nervous about the whole thing..
With all of the crazy abnormal things we have had go on through out our pregnancy, this is the one thing that has really made me the most nervous & scared.. I think it is because of the chance that we could have our baby next tuesday, that just seems so soon! & i hadnt really thought about having a c-section. I had just always thought about natural birth! So.. lots to think about. With all the risks, there is also the high chance that everythign will go successfully & giuliana will be moved into the right position, & the pregnancy will proceed with no more complications! This is what i am hoping for. We are ready to meet our little girl, but only if she is truly ready to meet us.

please keep our little family in your thoughts this week as we prepare for the procedure next week. Hate to admit it but i have been losing lots of sleep over this. I know it is all in God's hands & whatever is meant to happen will happen!
Hey Ashley,
ReplyDeleteI sent you a message a couple days ago about things to try before next tuesday. Let me know that you got it ok! :-)
We will be thinking about you guys non stop until she is safe and sound in a non-breech position! As always, if you need something, just let me know!
Jessa
Sending happy thoughts and rotating vibes to your little one!
ReplyDeleteI've read about natural ways of getting the baby to turn, and some people say it worked for them...it wouldn't hurt to look up some methods and see if you can help her out this week!
ReplyDeleteHere's one website I looked at: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/ilana.m/turnbaby.htm
If you do try it, let us know, I'd be curious to hear about it!
Just stay happy and positive Mama! Your little bundle will turn one way or another. You can rock this ;)
ReplyDeletePraying for you! I know those procedures can be quite effective!
ReplyDeleteGood Luck to you!
My C-section was a great experience! My son was too big to come out so it was safer to have a planned c-section than an emergency one. You can read about my experience here(http://theeblackwells.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html).
ReplyDeleteAnother great prep is the Lifetime TV Show 'One Born Every Minute' I watched it before I had my baby and it helped relax some of my nerves about the whole c-section process. C-section or natural birth it would be a great help!
To be honest Ashley, I don't think I would try to turn one of my babies with that procedure. I've heard too many scary stories to feel confident about it. What if you do go into labor and then she comes but her lungs aren't ready and she has to stay in ICU? Personally that risk would make me too nervous. My Dr wouldn't do the c-section until a week before my due date because that ensures the baby is ready.
If you have any questions about c-sections, please don't hesitate to ask! I know I asked some people what I thought were silly things but I just wanted to know :)
My tiny family will be sending lots of prayers up for your tiny family!
Aww, what cute little chubby cheeks! Baby cheeks are the best! Best of luck to you with your baby. You know, it is very common for a baby to be breech and then turn on its own at the last minute. Just keep calm and know that everything will be fine in the end!
ReplyDeleteAww I'm sorry that you're having to deal with this right now!!! I know we don't know each other at all but I will keep you in my prayers. All the unknown things before baby comes can be scary, but you're absolutely right - it is all in God's hands! And whatever happens, He will be with you every step of the way...Here's hoping she does a little somersault in the next week :) I'll look forward to hearing how it goes. Feel free to come visit my blog too: oneluckylegg.blogspot.com. I'm pretty new to the whole blogging thing but I'm giving it another shot :) Would love to hear from you on there - I never get any comments! It's like getting a letter in the mail! hahah
ReplyDeleteAdorable pictures! I'll be praying for you and just remember that God is in control! I delivered my twin boys in May at 35 weeks and they were perfectly healthy! I believe that 37 weeks is even considered full term. Before you know it, this will be a distant memory in the pregnancy journal! Good luck and God bless! :o)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness look at those cute chubby cheeks! How cute :)
ReplyDeleteI am praying for you, Willy, and Guilianna. I am sure the doctors wouldn't do the procedure if they didn't think she was strong and ready to come out and see her mom!
I am sure everything will work out for you and try and focus on the fact that no matter how she arrives, you will be able to hold your baby girl soon! Text me or call if you need anything or want to talk :)
Sending good thoughts and prayers in your direction. What always helped me with my pregnancy issues is just to not stress about what *could* happen until it happens. Be prepared, but don't sit and think of all the things that could go wrong. And if/when you have to deal with it, that's when things can get stressful and crazy :) Good luck!

ReplyDeletePraying for you especially during this time. As you know I did US of all kind and we did many external versions when necessary. Some worked some didn't. No one ever went into premature labor though. I want to be honest it will be uncomfortable for you. Please let the doctor know if you want to stop. Its your call. We can't wait to get to meet this little darling. Praying you through this procedure, birth whether it is a c-section or normal delivery. Once that baby is in your arms all else will be forgotten. She will bless you so very much. You know I had an emergency c-section and I survived. We love you.
I just stumbled upon your blog and thought you this might help you...There is a chiropractic technique that is VERY successful, called the Webster Technique. It's safe and works most of the time in getting breech babies to turn. I'm not a doctor, but from my recollection it opens up the pelvis and rib cage giving baby enough room to turn. I would recommend finding a Pediatric and Pre-natal Chiropractic Specialist, rather than just any chiropractor. A specialist has had extensive additional training (my chiropractor had an extra 3 years of school) to treat pregnant women. Good luck, I just had my 3rd baby in a planned home birth it is such a wonderful and special time ENJOY it, it goes SO fast!
